In her past career she occupied the position of Director-Cytogenomics Laboratory at Greenwood Genetic Center, Inc., Scientific Director at Georgia Esoteric & Molecular Laboratory, Head-Cytogenomics at PerkinElmer Genetics, Inc. and Scientific Director-Cytogenetic Laboratory at MCG Health, Inc.

She received a doctorate from Guru Nanak Dev University.
