The Carousel Center, Inc., also known as the Carousel Child Advocacy Center (CCAC), is a nonprofit organization serving the Cape Fear region, specifically Brunswick, New Hanover, and Pender counties. The non-profit company is based in Wilmington, NC. The center supports healing, promotes justice, and fosters resilience in children who have experienced physical or sexual abuse. It provides comprehensive, no-cost services including child medical evaluations, forensic interviews, trauma-informed counseling, and caregiver support. The organization collaborates with law enforcement and social services to ensure a child-friendly environment for healing. It also emphasizes community education, prevention, and advocacy to improve child safety and well-being, including training adults in child sexual abuse prevention through the Stewards of Children® program, with a five-year study in partnership with the University of North Carolina Wilmington.
