Beschrijving van de bedrijfsactiviteiten: National Grid plc

National Grid plc is gespecialiseerd in het bezitten en exploiteren van elektriciteits- en gasnetwerken. De netto-omzet is als volgt over de verschillende activiteiten verdeeld
- transmissie en distributie in de Verenigde Staten en New England (50,6%);
- exploitatie van elektriciteitsnetten voor transmissienetbeheerders in het Verenigd Koninkrijk (18,9%);
- elektriciteitstransmissie in het Verenigd Koninkrijk (13,6%): bezit eind maart 2024 een netwerk van meer dan 7.000 km bovengrondse elektriciteitsleidingen en meer dan 300 onderstations;
- elektriciteitsdistributie in het Verenigd Koninkrijk (7,9%): elektriciteitsdistributie (220.000 km bovengrondse en ondergrondse leidingen en meer dan 185.000 onderstations);
- overige (7,9%): telecom- en interconnectieactiviteiten tussen de verschillende binnenlandse elektriciteitsnetten, opslagactiviteiten voor vloeibaar aardgas, enz.
De netto-omzet is geografisch als volgt verdeeld: het Verenigd Koninkrijk (45,7%) en de Verenigde Staten (54,3%).
