Founded in 1984, Highlands Museum & Discovery Center is a 501(c)(3) regional history and children’s museum dedicated to celebrating the heritage, culture, and history of the region along the Country Music Highway. The private company is based in Ashland, KY. The museum offers permanent and rotating exhibits on topics such as World War II, local medical history, country music heritage, natural world exploration, aviation, and notable historical figures. It provides services including birthday party rentals, field trips, and a large event space called the Highlands Center, which accommodates up to 350 guests for seated events or over 600 for theater-style seating, with modern amenities such as wi-fi, ambient lighting, private catering areas, and convenient parking.
