Charles Baillie

Charles is the Co-President of Quantum, where he is responsible for overseeing various aspects of the firm’s investment, fundraising, and operational activities.
Charles serves on the firm’s private equity, venture capital, and credit and structured capital Investment Committees, as well as on the firm’s Operating Committee.
Prior to joining Quantum, Charles spent 30 years at Goldman Sachs where he was most recently head of Strategy and Acquisitions for the Consumer and Investment Management Division.
In that role, he acquired and integrated over 15 businesses into Goldman.
Prior to that, he headed Goldman’s Global Portfolio Solutions Group, which provides outsourced CIO capabilities to large institutions, focusing on customized asset allocation, tactical implementation, risk management and multi-asset portfolio construction.
He also served as global co-head and CIO of the Alternative Investments & Manager Selection Group which comprises Goldman’s Private Equity Group, Hedge Fund Strategies, and Global Manager Strategies businesses.
Charles earned a BAH from Queen’s University, Canada, an MA from the University of Oxford, and an MBA from the Harvard Graduate School of business, where he graduated as a Baker Scholar.
