Voya IM actively manages strategies which seek to bring technical and analytical expertise in developing rigorous and superior solutions. The primary focus of the firm’s investment management is fixed income in nature, although some equity, alternative and private equity investing strategies are also employed. In this regard, many of the investments are privately placed or otherwise not traded on public securities exchanges. Voya IM employs a disciplined investment process with top-down macro themes analysis that also provides the context for their bottom up-security selection.

VIL serves as the investment adviser to certain CLOs, and historically supervised and directed the investment and reinvestment of the CLOs’ assets. The CLOs’ investment strategy was to invest primarily in below investment grade, floating rate senior loans that carry a higher-than-normal risk that borrowers may default in the timely payment of principal and interest on their loans, which would likely negatively impact the value of a CLO’s portfolio.
