Charles Mwebeiha

Charles is a Co-Founder and Partner at Sango Capital.
Prior to co-founding Sango, Charles was a principal and Chief Risk Officer at Destiny Corporation, a South African investment firm, where he was involved in structuring and negotiating a number of leveraged buy-out transactions.
Prior to Destiny, Charles was a partner at Edward Nathan Sonnenbergs, a leading South African corporate law firm, where he helped to build and ultimately headed the firm’s Africa Practice Group.
Charles advised governments, multinational corporations, private equity funds and financial institutions on a variety of commercial, capital markets, private equity, M&A and project finance matters as well as on regulatory reforms.
Charles started his career in private legal practice and also worked in capital markets regulation in Uganda.
Charles received a European Union/Carnegie Foundation Scholarship to study international trade law at the University of Pretoria/University of Amsterdam, receiving an LL.M with distinction.
Charles also holds an LL.B from Makerere University.
He sits on several fund advisory boards and portfolio company boards for Sango Capital.
