Dipak Roy

Dr. Roy founded Interactive Circuits Systems Ltd. (ICS) in 1978, and was the President of the internationally recognized defense electronics company until 2004.
After leaving ICS (which currently belongs to General Electric) in 2004, Dr. Roy formed D-Ta Enterprises Inc. to invest in technology companies around the world.
Dr. Roy is an active primary investor and board member of various technology companies in Canada and the U.S., including SensorCom Inc. and Personica Inc. Dr. Roy is also involved in many business/charitable organizations, such as The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE), the Ottawa Heart Institute, the Élisabeth Bruyère palliative care hospital, and a not-for-profit organization which prints books in braille for the blind in India.
During the course of his career, he has received many awards, including the Lockheed-Martin program award for performance and excellence in a U.S.
Navy sonar project, the VITA/ANSI award for invention and standardization of data flow architecture (FPDP) and the 2005 Technology Achievement Award from the India Canada Chamber of Commerce.
Dr. Roy has published over a dozen technical papers and articles in trade journals.
Dr. Roy earned a Bachelor of Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering in 1970 and a post-graduate diploma in Computer Science in 1971, both from Jadavpur University in Calcutta, India.
In 1977, he received a PhD in Electronics Engineering from Carleton University.
