James Carpenter

James J.
Carpenter is currently the Director at Flagstar Bank NA, Long Island Museum of Science & Technology, Long Island Housing Partnership, Metropolitan Mortgage Officers Society, Real Estate Practitioners Institute, New York Community Bank Foundation, and The Setauket Neighborhood House.

He was also the Chief Lending Officer & Senior Executive VP at New York Community Bancorp, Inc. from 2000 to 2020, and the Chief Lending Officer & Senior EVP at New York Community Bank (Investment Management) from 2005 to 2019.
He served as the Assistant Vice President at American Savings Bank, FSB (Honolulu, Hawaii) and as the SVP-Multi Family & Commercial Real Estate Lending at CFS Bank (Woodhaven, New York) from 1991 to 2000.
From 2005 to 2018, he was the Senior Executive Vice President at New York Commercial Bank.
Mr. Carpenter completed his undergraduate degree at Fairfield University and obtained an MBA from Fordham University.
He also holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Richmond, which was conferred in 1983.
