Mick Sweeney

Mr. Sweeney joined PineBridge Investments in 2019 and is CEO of the firm’s EMEA business, overseeing general management in the region, with overall responsibility for business operations.
As part of his role, Mr. Sweeney also serves on PineBridge’s Global Senior Leadership Team.
Mr. Sweeney is also CEO of PineBridge Investments Ireland Ltd., the Management Company responsible for UCITS, AIFM and MiFID business domiciled in Ireland.
In this role, he has oversight of and responsibility for PineBridge’s Irish business and office and serves as an Executive Director & Non-Executive Director on PineBridge’s Irish and Luxembourg Boards, respectively.
Mr. Sweeney has over 30 years experience leading a diverse portfolio of financial services businesses across domestic and international markets, including capital markets, wealth management, asset management and insurance.
Prior to joining PineBridge, Mr. Sweeney was CEO of Bank of Ireland Wealth Management, as well as serving as Interim CEO of the bank’s New Ireland Assurance business.
At Bank of Ireland, Mr. Sweeney also held several senior leadership roles including CEO of the Global Asset Management business, with overall responsibility for the Bank’s Fund Administration & Custody business.
In this role, he was also responsible for the Asset Management Division’s global alternative businesses, spanning private equity, hedge fund and long/short American-based boutiques.
Previously, Mr. Sweeney served as CEO of the Bank’s Global Markets business.
Mr. Sweeney holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Hons) from University College, Dublin, Ireland.
He is an Adjunct Lecturer on the Trinity College Dublin (TCD) MBA Programme and also holds a Diploma in Company Direction from the Institute of Directors (IOD) UK.
