Nader F. Darehshori

Nader is the former CEO of Houghton Mifflin Publishing Company.
Under Nader’s leadership, Houghton grew from $400 million in revenues to more than $1 billion.
As CEO of Houghton Mifflin, Nader acquired McDougal Littell, D.C.
Heath, and DLM Worldwide, in each case retaining management and staff as well as the companies’ proven brand names, and accelerating their growth.
He spun INSO off as an IPO, bringing Houghton Mifflin almost $200 million in profit from a $17 million investment.
He also engineered the sale of the company in 2002 for $2.2 billion to Vivendi Universal.
Nader co-founded Cambium Learning in 2003 and grew it in three years to more than $100 million in revenue.
The company was sold to Veronis Suhler in March 2007.
Nader’s deep knowledge of the publishing industry is a valuable resource for Back Bay Group and its affiliates in sector analysis and education strategic plays.
He actively advises the company on a broad spectrum of industry related issues including: corporate governance, management best practices, strategic growth initiatives, partnerships, alliances and finance.
Nader has served as director on many public and private company boards including State Street Bank and others.
