He is also the Chairman-Governing Body of The Diabetic Association Medical College.
In addition, he is the Chairman of Mir Denim Ltd.
and the Managing Director & Director of Mir Akhter Hossain Ltd., Mir Ceramic Ltd., Mir Holdings Ltd., and Mir Pharmaceuticals Ltd.
He is the Managing Director of Mir Telecom Ltd., Bangla Telecom Ltd., BTS Communications Bangladesh Ltd., and Mir Lpg Ltd.
He is a Director of Chaldal Ltd.
He is a Member of Bangladesh Red Crescent Society and Diabetic Association of Bangladesh.
He is the Proprietor of Fair Trading Co. Ltd.
and the President of The Faridpur Diabetic Association.
Mr. Hossain's former positions include being the Chairman of MIR Securities Ltd.
and Ebl Asset Management Ltd.
He was a Director of Eastern Bank Plc from 2010 to 2013.
He served as the President of the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce & Industry from 2005 to 2007.
He was also a Vice President of the Confederation of Asia-Pacific Chambers of Commerce & Industry and a Senior Vice President of the SAARC Chamber of Commerce & Industry.
He was the President of the Telecommunication Infrastructure Operators of Bangladesh.
Mr. Hossain graduated from the University of Dhaka in 1961.
