Frederick H. Borden

Mr. Borden is a Managing Director in the Business Development Group, where he focuses on new domestic opportunities and relationships for the firm on the West Coast.
He has spent 30 years developing emerging market opportunities in the debt and capital markets, and raising equity and mezzanine capital for corporate and investment management entities.
Prior to joining Hamilton Lane, he was CEO of a start-up venture Zephyr Communications in California.
He was one of the founders of Redwood Trust, Inc., a NYSE-listed mortgage REIT, and worked on the trading desk of the High Yield Department of Drexel Burnham Lambert in Beverly Hills.
He was also one of the founding members and the manager of West Coast sales for Salomon Brothers’ Mortgage Securities Department.
Mr. Borden received a B.A.
from the University of California, Berkeley, and an M.B.A.
from Stanford Business School.
