Gonzalo Alende Serra

Mr Gonzalo Alende Serra has joined Southern Cross as Chief Administrative Officer and Director of Investor Relations in the Buenos Aires office.
Mr. Alende has developed long career working in finance in several world-class companies with a regional focus.
He joined the Buenos Aires office of PwC, then Price Waterhouse, in 1990 and spent five years in its audit department with a focus on holding companies and insurance services.
He then spent three years in management consulting with a regional focus, first as a financial services researcher with McKinsey, and subsequently as a consulting manager with Arther D.
Little, both out of Buenos Aires.
In early 2000, he was recruited by Impsat, a Latin American Broadband Network Company, to create and head the investor relations group for its Nasdaq IPO.
In late 2001 and throughout 2002, he was in charge of coordinating the company’s successful Chapter 11 case.
In 2003 he joined Tenaris, the world’s leader in seamless pipes for the oil and gas industry, which had recently completed an exchange offer involving the NYSE, Mexican, Italian and Argentine stock exchanges.
He coordinated the implementation of IFRS, Sarbanes Oxley Certifications as Compliance Manager and then took over Corporate Risk Management, Portfolio Management and Financial Planning.
In 2006, he took part in the task force for the acquisition and integration of Maverick Tube Corporation of USA. Mr. Alende received his accounting degree in Buenos Aires, his MBA at University of London (Imperial College), and his CFA.
