Martha Somerman

Martha J.
Somerman is currently an Independent Director at BIOLASE, Inc. She previously served as the Director at the National Institutes of Health and the National Institute of Dental & Craniofacial Research from 2011 to 2019.
Prior to that, she was a Professor at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry from 1991 to 2002.
Dr. Somerman also held the position of Dean at the University of Washington School of Dentistry.
She holds a doctorate degree from Rochester Christian University, a graduate degree from Hunter College, and an undergraduate degree from New York University.
