The company will be based in London. The restructuring of the Forest Products and Packaging industries is continuing at an increasing pace. Jaakko Pöyry Consulting has been actively involved in this process as a strategic advisor and provider of corporate finance advisory services. To further reinforce this latter role, Jaakko Pöyry Consulting has decided to create a new specialised Corporate Finance group, JP Capital International, to assist Forest Products and Packaging companies in the implementation of acquisitions, divestitures and restructuring activities. JP Capital International will become an integral part of Jaakko Pöyry Consulting, working independently towards its customers. Jaakko Pöyry Consulting will continue as a strategic consultant for the Forest Products Industries. JP Capital International's services will be made available to its clients either as part of engagements undertaken by Jaakko Pöyry Consulting, or as separate corporate finance advisory assignments carried out by a group with in-depth knowledge of the Forest Products and Packaging industries. JP Capital will provide services to corporate clients, governments, venture capital companies and investment banks. Jaakko Pöyry Consulting has engaged Bengt Hammar, previously with Morgan Stanley and BZW to lead the creation of JP Capital International. Brett Hutton, former CFO of APRIL, and Kari Viitala, former head of Jaakko Pöyry Consulting's Corporate Finance team will support Mr. Hammar. The team will be strengthened further by Rainer Häggblom and David Walker of Jaakko Pöyry Consulting as Board members of JP Capital International. An office will be opened in London during the early part of this year, staffed by a mix of Jaakko Pöyry Consulting personnel and external hires from the investment banking community, which will be enhanced by Jaakko Pöyry resources in Helsinki, Singapore and New York.
