The Black Business & Professional Association is a non profit organization that addresses equity and opportunity for the Black community in business, employment, education, and economic development. Its events and programs include Harry Jerome Awards, Martin Luther King Celebration, National Black Business and Professional Convention, BBPA National Scholarships, Black Roots Bear Fruits, BBPA Exchange, BBPA Conversations, Young Professionals, and Community Tribute to Deputy Chief Sloly. The company was founded by Denham Jolly, Cynthia Reyes, Hamlin Grange, Pamela Appelt, Jean Augustine, Kamala- Jean Gopie, Bromley Armstrong, Al Mercury, and Al Hamilton in July 1983 and is headquartered in Toronto, Canada.
