Westwood Smithers

Westwood Smithers Jr., has been Senior Vice President and General Counsel of the Corp.
for Public Broadcasting since October 17, 2005.
He is a Member of the Virginia State Bar.
Prior to joining Corp.
for Public Broadcasting, Mr. Smithers was Executive Vice President and General Manager for Business Operations of the Commonwealth Public Broadcasting Corp.
Before joining Commonwealth Public Broadcasting, he was Vice President of Broadcasting and Telecommunications Services for Central Virginia Communications from 1995 to 1999.
Mr. Smithers worked for Virginia's Department of Information Technology from 1986 to 1994.
Previously, he worked for the Commonwealth of Virginia from 1972 to 1986.
Mr. Smithers received a degree from the University of Richmond.
