William I. Ihlanfeldt

Dr. Ihlanfeldt has a B.S.
degree from Illinois Wesleyan; an M.A.
and Ph.D.
in Counseling and Educational Psychology from Northwestern University; and an honorary Doctor of Law from Illinois Wesleyan.
Dr. Ihlanfeldt was previously Chairman and CEO of the Northwestern University/Evanston Research Park and Vice President for Institutional Relations at Northwestern University.
As Vice President, he was responsible for policy analysis and government affairs at the state, federal, and city levels and was instrumental in raising over $300 million for capital and research projects for engineering, biotechnology, and the Research Park.
Dr. Ihlanfeldt has served on three corporate boards: the Student Loan Marketing Association (Sallie Mae), Cybermark, and the Construction Loan Insurance Association.
He was a member of the Executive Committee of Sallie Mae for 20 years and served as its Vice-Chairman.
He also served as the Chairman of the Federation of Independent Illinois Colleges and Universities.
