Mr. Bill J.
Furlong is Vice Chairman at TD Securities.
He leads the global business management activities for TD Securities trading businesses, including Global Origination, Equities, Equity Derivatives, Structured Arbitrage, Interest Rate & Currency Products, Energy and Credit Products.
The Trading Business Management group is responsible for partnering with the firm’s trading businesses to ensure alignment with industry and regulatory requirements, as well as the firm’s policies and standards regarding trading management.
The team also supports the development of business strategy, new business and product initiatives and policies associated with market, credit, operational and regulatory risk.
As a member of the TD Securities Management Committee, he plays a key role on the firm’s senior leadership team.
Mr. Furlong joined TD Securities in 1994, advancing through a number of increasingly senior positions, including Global Head of the Asset Securitization Group, Head of Global Middle Office (London, England) and most recently, leading the Business Market Risk Group.
He has gained broad capital markets experience and extensive industry and product knowledge during his career which has spanned Back, Middle and Front Office roles.
Before TD Securities, he worked at CIBC Wood Gundy.
Mr. Furlong holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) from Memorial University of Newfoundland and a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Western Ontario.
