Bill McKenna is Senior Vice President of Operations for Vought Aircraft Industries, Inc., an expanded role he was appointed to in April 2004.
He is responsible for all processes and elements that contribute to production and delivery of quality products, including fabrication, assembly, facilities and day-to-day support operations.
He also is responsible for ensuring the success of our site consolidation activities and its linkage to the company's strategic plan for new programs and technologies.
He has been responsible for the assembly and fabrication operations at all Vought sites since July 2000, when Vought Aircraft Industries was organized as an independent company.
Previously, he was Vice President - Southeast Operations for the Aerostructures Business Area of Northrop Grumman's Integrated Systems and Aerostructures Sector.
He was named to that position in September 1999.
For the previous nineteen months, he was Vice President, Integrated Product Team Leader and Site Manager of the Aircraft Door Center in Perry, Georgia.
He also served as Vice President and Site Manager for Northrop Grumman's Milledgeville, Ga., site, when it was part of the former Commercial Aircraft Division.
He was promoted to vice president in August 1997, having served as Milledgeville Site Manager since 1995.
At Milledgeville, he implemented process team principles and techniques to manage daily manufacturing operations.
On the first attempt for certification, the Milledgeville Site achieved the Silver Preferred Supplier Award from McDonnell Douglas (now part of The Boeing Co.).
He has a Bachelor of Science degree from the State University of New York College at Oswego.
From 1983 to 1992, in addition to his company responsibilities, he was adjunct Instructor for Suffolk County Community College (Long Island, N.Y.).
He is also a former secondary education teacher.
