After receiving his BA degree in Political Science at Wesleyan University in 1954, Mr. Bufka served for two years in the United States Army.
Following a year of graduate business school at Cornell University, he joined New York Trust Company (later merged into what is now Chase Manhattan Bank) in 1957.
During his five years in New York he continued his postgraduate business studies at New York University.
From 1962-1967 Mr. Bufka was a trust officer at the U.S.
National Bank of Omaha, and then returned home to join Gofen and Glossberg.
Over the next 20 years he built a successful investment counseling practice that was the basis for the creation of Bufka & Rodgers (now part of Mid-Continent Capital, L.L.C.) which he founded on April 15, 1987.
Mr. Bufka is a governing member of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and President of the Bufka Foundation.
He is also a member of the Association for Investment Management and Research and the Investment Analysts Society of Chicago.
