Amalgamated Bank (Investment Management) (Amalgamated Bank-IM) is the investment management division of Amalgamated Bank (NASDAQ: AMAL), an FDIC-insured commercial bank headquartered in New York City. The firm was founded as Amalgamated Bank of New York in 1923 by the Amalgamated Clothing Workers of America. They have retail branches in New York as well as branches in Las Vegas, Nevada, Lyndhurst, New Jersey, Pasadena, California and Washington, DC. The firm was founded in 1997 and is a wholly-owned subsidiary of TIAA-CREF Asset Management LLC, ultimately owned by TIAA Board of Governors.
