Prior to co-founding Verax Capital Partners in 2006, Mr. Koza developed substantial experience in restructurings & turnarounds, distressed & high yield securities and direct investing as a partner in both an alternative investment fund & global securities fund.
From 1999-2006, he worked for W.R.
Huff Asset Management Co., L.L.C.
which is a multi-billion dollar investment advisor.
During his tenure he served in various capacities including: a partner in its alternative investment fund which invested in both public and private securities, a partner in its global securities fund and a distressed/ high yield research analyst.
Over this time period, he had substantial involvement in multi-billion dollar restructuring and turnaround transactions.
From 1996-1998, Mr. Koza worked for the Gallery Group and various assets owned and operated by a family office.
Over this time period he served as a senior finance director focused on new business ventures and corporate expansion opportunities.
He served on the Board of Directors and was a member of the Audit Committee of Impsat Fiber Networks, Inc., a public company offering private telecommunications network and Internet services in Latin America.
In addition, he acted in an advisory role to NTL Inc, (now called Virgin Media Inc), a public company offering a wide range of communications and content distribution services to residential and business customers throughout the United Kingdom.
He is also a member of the CFA Institute and the New York Society of Security Analysts.
Mr. Koza received his BS degree from Boston College with a concentration in Finance.
In addition, he received his MBA from Boston University and was a recipient of a Boston University Scholarship Award and a Sanyo Corporation Scholarship Award.
He has also obtained the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.
