LLC, the firm was founded in 1972 under the name of Aetna Capital Management, Inc. They are a wholly-owned subsidiary of Voya Investment Management LLC, ultimately held by Voya Financial, Inc. BKF Asset Management Co. was founded in 1982 by John A. Levin in New York City. The firm was formerly known as John A. Levin & Co. (JAL). In 1996 JAL became a wholly-owned subsidiary of Baker Fentress & Company (NYSE: BKF).
