Finca Vigia Foundation Inc is a nonprofit organization established in 2002 that is dedicated to the long-term preservation of Ernest Hemingway’s historic Cuban home, Finca Vigía, where he lived and produced many major works. The private company is located in the US. The foundation collaborates with Cuba’s national cultural heritage council and other partners to conserve the property and its extensive contents, including original furniture, artwork, trophies, Hemingway’s personal library, letters, photographs, manuscripts, and galley proofs. Its mission includes architectural preservation, document conservation, and new construction to protect the estate from environmental threats. The foundation has overseen renovations, restoration of Hemingway’s yacht, and conservation and digitization of documents, with many archived at the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library. It constructed a restoration center with climate-controlled storage and conservation laboratories to preserve Hemingway’s archival collection.
