William Ruhl is Vice Chairman and a Member of the Executive Committee and Chairman of the Strategic Planning Review Committee of D&E Communications, Inc. and has been a Director since 1993.
He was Chairman of D&E Communications from November 2004 to May 2006, Chief Executive Officer from October 2001 to March 2005 and Senior Vice President from 1991 to October 2001.
Prior to joining D&E Communications in 1991, Mr. Ruhl worked at Bell of Pennsylvania and Bell Atlantic for 30 years.
He was Chairman of Monor Telephone Co. from 1994 to 1999.
From 1998 to 2006, Mr. Ruhl represented the United States Telecom Association on the President's National Security Telecommunications Advisory Committee.
He was a Director of the United States Telecom Association, the Pennsylvania Telephone Association, the Economic Development Company of Lancaster County and the Harrisburg Regional Chamber.
Mr. Ruhl was Chairman of the Technology Council of Central Pennsylvania.
He is a Member of the Board of Advisors for the Technology Council of Central Pennsylvania and President of the Central Pennsylvania Symphony.
Mr. Ruhl is a Registered Professional Engineer and a Life Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, Inc. He is a Member of the Executive Committee and a Trustee for Harrisburg University.
