As chair of the RBC Asset Management Inc. (RBC AM) Canadian Equity Selection Committee, John oversees a team of investment professionals and determines the investment selection process for the firm.
In addition, he is a member of the Investment Strategy Committee, RBC AM's key forum for the discussion and implementation of North American investment policy.
His reputation for astute stock picking is well earned; John has specialized in the financial services sector analyzing Canadian bank stocks since 1968.
By augmenting the traditional dividend fund investment approach with aggressive secondary strategies, John has consistently delivered first and second quartile performance.
John has been with RBC AM and its predecessor companies since 1978.
Prior to joining RBC AM, he studied the Canadian market, particularly the financial services sector, at MacDougall, MacDougall, MacTier and Prudential Assurance in Montreal.
He graduated from McGill University with a Bachelor of Commerce degree and is a Chartered Financial Analyst
