John S. Scarborough

Before retiring from Bingham, Osborn & Scarborough in 2007, John worked in the securities and investment field for over 25 years, following a business career with Raychem and Berkeley Bio-Engineering corporations.
John was named one of the top 100 financial planners in the country by Mutual Funds magazine in 2001 and, while a practitioner, he held the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM designation.
John is a member of the Advisory Council to McLaren Business School at the University of San Francisco, is a member of the Council of Partners at the Marin Community Foundation, and is a past Treasurer and current Commodore of the San Francisco Yacht Club.
John lives in Belvedere where he is active in civic affairs and is a past Chairman of the Board of the Marin Education Fund.
Though John formally retired from BOS in 2007, he remains an active promoter of the firm’s accomplishments, and occasionally serves as a consultant on various financial planning and investment topics.
John acquired a BS in Engineering and an MBA from Stanford University.
