He began his career at Midland Bank, moving on to Hambros Bank in 1984.
He joined Guinness Flight in the late 1990s, just before the takeover by Investec.
Mr. Johnston is a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (Chartered MCSI).
