Karl personifies the role of strategic CAO.
As a leader, he directs a team of three professionals responsible for the administration of AMERRA’s debt and equity investment portfolio.
His team thrives under Karl’s steady guidance and willingness to teach.
In addition, he advises and supports the CIO and Head of Investor Relations.
His aptitude in mining 10 years of AMERRA’s investment data and communicating it in a concise and meaningful way is crucial to developing their investment strategies and fundraising materials.
Karl’s work is global as evidenced by his partnership with AMERRA’s debt team.
His data-driven insights are pivotal in selecting transactions.
Occasionally his unique skill set is employed directly with AMERRA’s portfolio companies.
For example, he played a key role in negotiating capital structure reorganization and upgrading senior management in a Peru based palm oil plantation and mill.
Karl also coordinates the equity team’s efforts and connects them with AMERRA’s in-house and external resources.
This means that he is one of the few members of our team who has key responsibilities in both of AMERRA’s core business activities.
Karl showed his diversity prior to joining AMERRA by serving on the Board of Directors of an early “dot.com” darling as well as a publicly traded chemical company.
He also held positions at Resurgence Asset Management and M.D.
Sass-Macquarie Financial Strategies.
He holds an MBA with a dual specialization in Finance & Accounting and Taxation & Business Law from New York University and a BS in business from Skidmore College.
He currently sits on the board of Peruvian Palm Holdings, Ltd.
