Ortega is a Director of The Kroger Co., the Washington Mutual Investors Fund, the JPMorgan Value Opportunities Fund and has been a Director of Rayonier, Inc. since 1984.
Previously, she was a Commissioner on the Copyright Royalty Tribunal and a Member of the President's Advisory Committee on Small and Minority Business.
Ms. Ortega served as the 38th Treasurer of the United States from 1983 to 1989 and as Alternate Representative of the United States to the United Nations General Assembly from 1990 to 1991.
She is a Trustee of The American Funds Tax-Exempt Series I.
She is a graduate of Eastern New Mexico University and holds three honorary Doctor of Law Degrees and one honorary Doctor of Social Science Degree.
