The British Institute of International and Comparative Law (BIICL) is based in London, UK and was founded in 1958 by a group of legal professionals. The institute provides informed, independent and practical legal ideas for a community. BIICL works on topics related to Business and Human Rights, Cultural Heritage, and Investment Treaty Forum. The Bingham Appeal was launched in 2009 to establish the Bingham Centre, which continues to raise vital core funding for the institute, enabling it to proactively address long-term challenges to the rule of law, as well as responding to emerging issues as they arise. The Investment Treaty Forum is a membership-based group, bringing together some of the most expert and experienced lawyers, business managers, policy advisers, academics and government officials working in the field.
