Mike Shade

Mr. Michael E.
Shade, CFA MBA, is a President & Portfolio Manager at The de Burlo Group, Inc. He joined the firm in 2011 as a Senior Portfolio Manager with the equity investment team.
He serves on the firm’s management team as President and serves as a board member.
Mr. Shade is a member of the firm’s portfolio management team, focusing on equities, and he manages equity research activities.
He has twenty-four years of experience working as a portfolio manager at a number of Boston-based firms, Mr. Shade worked at Loomis Sayles and Columbia Asset Management, where he managed endowments, faith-based organizations, corporate retirement systems, and individuals.
Working as a CPA, he conducted audits for companies and assisted individuals in tax planning, estate planning, and financial planning.
He studied Economics and history at Washington University in St. Louis and earned a Master of Business Administration degree, as well as a Master of Science degree in Accounting from Northeastern University.
He has earned the Chartered Financial Analyst and the Certified Public Accountant designations.
Mr. Shade is a member of the CFA Society Boston, the CFA Institute, and served on the CFA Society Boston Wealth Management Committee.
