Jones is Investment Director at Cognis Capital LLP.
He has over 19 years experience of analysing companies and working through the changing structures, instruments and cycles in the European corporate high yield bond market has given him a strong understanding of the fundamental drivers of business performance and different elements of the capital structure as well as a deep knowledge of the dynamics of the European high yield bond market.
He joined Cognis in January 2012 from Barclays Capital where he has been involved in the European high yield credit market since its inception in the late 1990s and has worked on numerous new company loan and bond transactions gaining a critical understanding of company drivers and evolving debt structures over this period.
In his last role at Barclays Capital, he was Managing Director and Head of European Fundamental Credit Research overseeing the distressed & leveraged loan, high yield & high grade credit research teams.
He started his career in the Corporate Banking department at UBS undertaking leveraged lending to European property and construction companies.
He joined Dresdner Kleinwort Benson to become involved in the nascent sterling corporate bond market and subsequently the European corporate high grade bond market.
With the start-up of the European high yield market, he focused his attention on the analysis of debt instruments of companies within this space, gaining significant recognition and winning numerous credit research industry awards including Institutional Investor, Euromoney and Credit magazine.
Mr. Jones earned a Bachelor of Science (Hons) degree in Banking & Finance from Loughborough University.
He is an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Bankers.
