Scott Fishman

Scott Fishman has more than three decades’ experience as a strategic advisor to the medical technology and pharmaceutical industries.
As CEO of the firm he started in 1989, Scott directed the evolution of Research by Design (RBD) from a bedroom startup to one of the most successful and prominent firms in the medical information industry.
He has counseled virtually every major pharmaceutical company, as well as a wide spectrum of biotechnology and medical device companies.
Following the sale of his firm to a global holding company, Scott founded Ethos LifeScience Advisors in 2006 and Envisage in 2014.
In addition to his involvement with Robin Hood Ventures, Fishman sits on the Therapeutics, Consumer Health and Devices investment review committees for Ben Franklin Technology Partners.
He is an assistant professor in Management in Philadelphia University’s MBA program and lectures on commercialization at Drexel University and in the University of Pennsylvania’s postdoctoral and medical education programs.
At UPenn’s Wharton School, he co-created and serves as program executive for the Commercialization Acceleration Program (CAP), a consultancy staffed by healthcare MBA and undergraduate Life Sciences students that provides experiential education for students while supporting the development and funding of technology-based start-up companies.
He is also an in-demand speaker at biotechnology development events around the United States, including recent engagements at Yale’s Healthcare Colloquium, Harvard’s iLab, and the National Science Foundation.
After receiving his undergraduate degree in English literature from the University of Pennsylvania, Fishman earned a master’s degree in advertising from the University of Texas
