Simon Ipe

Mr. Simon Ipe is Chief Operations Officer at Botswana Insurance Fund Management Ltd.
He has spent his entire career in the financial business arena.
He first came to Africa in 1984 as the Principal Auditor for the Tanzania Audit Corporation.
He moved to Botswana in 1990, joining the Bank of Botswana and serving in Financial Administration and Internal Audit capacities as Deputy Director, Operations and later as Chief Internal Auditor.
In 2001, he joined KPMG as a Director to organise and develop the organisation’s Management Assurance Services line of business.
He then moved to Bifm in February 2005.
Mr. Ipe graduated with a BSc in Chemistry from the University of Madras, India.
He is also a B.Com graduate from the University of Madras, and a qualified Chartered Accountant.
He is also a Fellow of the Botswana Institute of Accountants as well as the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.
On top of his qualifications he is also a certified Information Systems Auditor - USA and a European Organisation of Quality (EOQ) Quality System Manager (ISO 9000).
