Public Investment Corp. (SOC) Ltd. (PIC) is the wholly-owned pension fund management subsidiary of the Government of South Africa, with the Minister of Finance as a shareholder representative. It was founded in 1911 as the Public Debt Commissioners and became the Public Investment Corp. in 2004. Headquartered in Pretoria, the firm focuses exclusively on the public sector, investing funds on behalf of their clients, public sector entities such as pension, provident, social security or guardian funds. PIC supports the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals and considers environmental, social and governance issues in all its investments.

Metropolitan Asset Managers Ltd. (MetAM) is the wholly-owned subsidiary of MMI Holdings Ltd. (JH: MMI) in South Africa. Initially functioning as the investment arm of the Metropolitan Life Group, MetAM is a multi-specialist investment management firm which was created in 1997. Located in Cape Town, the firm manages money for institutional and retail investors through a wide range of segregated and pooled investment products.
