Prior to joining Longbow in April 2007, Mr. Richard was with FTN Midwest and joined them in October 2006 as a Senior Analyst covering steel.
Prior to joining FTN Midwest, he worked for 13 years in the steel industry.
His experience includes initial assignment to the metallurgical department at U.S.
Steel's flagship Gary Works.
This was followed by five years of turn operating management experience with LTV Cleveland's Direct Hot Charge Complex (DHCC) in both the melt shop and hot rolling mill.
Following LTV's closure, he worked in various financial capacities for ISG (later Mittal) Steel.
His experience includes service as the finishing mill analyst at the Cleveland Works, the cost accounting supervisor at Burns Harbor, the general accounting manager at Weirton, and the Controller at Columbus Coatings.
Prior to his work experience, Mr. Richard served five years commissioned service in the U.S.
Navy as nuclear propulsion trained line officer.
He is a Certified Management Accountant (CMA), a Certified Financial Manager (CFM), and is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charter holder.
Mr. Richard graduated from the University of Chicago with an MBA with a specialization in Business Economics and also received a BS in Metallurgical Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh.
