Previously he was a research analyst and teaching assistant at Columbia University for six years where he conducted research on portfolio management, value at risk and optimization.
In 2004, he also developed statistical models at the IBM T.J.
Watson Research Center.
He has been published in "Proceedings of SIAM Data Mining 2005" and will be published in "Mathematical Programming," "SIAM Journal on Optimization," and "Mathematical Methods of Operations Research".
He earned his Ph.D.
and M.S.
in operations research from Columbia University and a B.S.
in industrial engineering from Middle East Technical University in Ankara, Turkey.
