Hossam Ali H. Shobokshi

Hossam Shobokshi is one of the founding partners of the Dubai based Saray Capital – one of the leading value investment firms in the MENA region with focus on listed equities as well as commercial real estate and developed markets.
Earlier, Hossam was Managing Director – Regional Head for Middle East North Africa (MENA) for Private Equity at Standard Chartered Bank based in Dubai, UAE.
Before joining Standard Chartered Bank in 2006, Hossam gained extensive investment experience in both public and private equity in the MENA region with a focus on Saudi Arabia and Egypt.
He was a board member of three listed companies in Egypt i) Bisco Misr, ii) Cairo Housing & Development, and iii) United Housing & Development.
He also held board positions in a number of privately-held companies, including Suez Industrial Development (SIDC) and Nile City Investment Company.
Moreover, Hossam founded AlThuraya Foundation, a UK Charitable Incorporated Organization based in Edinburgh that focuses on granting hope and opportunity to outstanding young individuals from the MENA region through the granting of scholarships to study in the most critical scientific fields at the world's most prestigious universities.
Hossam graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Management (Honors), from the University of Pennsylvania –the Wharton School of Business.
