Kerry Clayton is Interim President and Chief Executive Officer of Assurant, Inc. Previously, he had been Vice Chairman of Assurant since March 17, 2006 and a Director since March 1999 and was President and Chief Executive Officer of Assurant from 1999 to 2006, Executive Vice President of Fortis, Inc. from 1993 to 1999 and Senior Vice President-Finance of Fortis from 1981 to 1985 and President of Fortis Benefits Insurance Company from 1985 to 1993 and held various positions with American Security Group from 1970 to 1980.
Mr. Clayton received an Engineering degree from Georgia Tech and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
