The firm was founded in 1997 as Dongbu Investment and Trust Management Corp. and changed their name to Dongbu Asset Management Co., Ltd. in 2006 and as DB Asset Management Co., Ltd. in 2017. They are a subsidiary of DB Financial Investment Co., Ltd. (KRX: 016610). DB Asset Management manages the assets of individual and institutional investors.

Woori Asset Management Co., Ltd. (Wooriam) is the investment management subsidiary of Kiwoom Securities Co., Ltd. (SO: 039490) in South Korea. Founded in 1988 as Lucky Investment Advisory Services, the firm became a subsidiary of Woori Financial Holdings (NYSE: WF) in 2004 and merged with Woori Investment Trust Management in 2005.
