JJ Scotti

Ms. Janis J.
Scotti is Director of Trading at Summit Brokerage Services, Inc. She began her career in finance issuing commercial paper to money desks in New York as well as banks and trust departments throughout the country.
She is part of the initial team at Summit, was the director of trading when Marshall Leeds took controlling interest in Summit in April 2002.
She has remained in that capacity and grown the department into a team of seven traders, covering two separate areas, trading and fixed income.
In 1976 Ms. Scotti moved to Wall Street, working for an independent discount broker-dealer.
She then held several positions in the institutional department at Ernst and Company, including over-the-counter and new issue trader, and was an OTC trader at a boutique investment banker broker-dealer.
In 1990, she joined JW Charles Financial Services, Inc., a private brokerage and clearing firm, covering OTC, listed and option orders on the trade desk.
Shortly after, led by Marshall Leeds’ company Corporate Securities, JW Charles was acquired and eventually became JW Genesis.
There, she joined the compliance department as a supervisor of independent branches.
After an acquisition by First Union, she remained with the parent company which became Wachovia, now Wells Fargo, until December of 2001.
