Prior to forming The Sawyer Martin Group at Baird, Mr. Martin served as a Senior Investment Management Consultant with Consulting Group/Smith Barney.
He was a partner in a 10-person New York-based practice that advised over $2 billion in institutional and ultra-high-net-worth assets, including over $300 million in alternative investments (primarily hedge fund strategies and private equities).
Mr. Martin was the lead consultant on 12 relationships representing $1.1 billion in assets.
The team’s endowment/foundation clients consistently ranked among the top quartile performers in the Wilshire Associates Universe.
In 2004, the team was recognized by Barron's, Research Magazine and Registered Rep Magazine as one of the best wealth advisory groups in the USA.
Mr. Martin received his M.B.A.
in Economics from The University of Chicago Graduate School of Business and B.A.
in Economics & Business from Wheaton College (Illinois).
