Kent Charles McCarthy

Mr. Kent C.
McCarthy is a Manager at Jayhawk Capital Management LLC.
He serves as the President and Chief Investment Officer of Jayhawk Capital Management, an alternative investment company he founded in 1995 that focuses primarily on equity positions in small-capitalization Chinese businesses.
Mr. McCarthy began his investing career in 1984 in Goldman Sachs’ New York City and San Francisco offices, where he worked in the company's Private Client Services Division and became the division's top producer.
In addition, he served as a member of the Stone Street Investment Committee, which managed the company's employees’ private equity investments.
In 1988, Mr. McCarthy was accorded a sabbatical from Goldman Sachs to teach at the University of Kansas, where he established and taught a course on Applied Portfolio Management.
In 1993, he retired from Goldman Sachs and began serving the university as the full-time instructor for that course.
He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Business Administration at the University of Kansas, received a Master’s degree in Taxation at the same institution and became a Certified Public Accountant.
He also earned an MBA from Stanford University.
