Warren S. Coates

Prior to joining Mawer in March 2009, Mr. Coates served as the Chief Financial Officer for a local wealth management firm and prior thereto as co-founder and Vice President, Finance for a private oil and gas service company from 2005 to 2008.
From 2000 to 2004, he was the Chief Financial Officer and Director for the G&L Slotco Oilfield/TS International Group of Companies and formerly Senior Manager/Controller for the Calgary Exhibition and Stampede.
Mr. Coates earned a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Calgary and was employed and articled with Deloitte, obtaining his Chartered Accountant's designation in 1993.
He also holds a diploma in Surveying Engineering Technology (Honours) from the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology.
Mr. Coates has completed the Effective Team Leadership certificate at the Banff Centre for Management and the CFO Leadership Program with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Alberta.
Mr. Coates is a shareholder and volunteer of the Calgary Exhibition and Stampede and has served on the Rodeo Committee since 2001.
He is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Alberta.
