Santos Limited richt zich op drie regionale bedrijfseenheden, waaronder Cooper Basin, Queensland en New South Wales (NSW) en (PNG), die nu de Bedrijfseenheid Oost-Australië en PNG vormen, Noord-Australië en Oost-Timor en West-Australië vormen nu de Bedrijfseenheid West-Australië, Noord-Australië en Oost-Timor en Alaska is de derde regionale Bedrijfseenheid. Deze drie business units worden ondersteund door twee functionele divisies: Santos Energy Solutions en Upstream Gas en Vloeistoffen. Het Cooper Basin produceert aardgas, gasvloeistoffen en ruwe olie. Gas wordt voornamelijk verkocht aan binnenlandse detailhandelaren, de industrie en voor de productie van vloeibaar aardgas, terwijl gasvloeistoffen en ruwe olie worden verkocht op binnenlandse en exportmarkten. Haar GLNG-project in Queensland produceert vloeibaar aardgas (LNG) voor de export naar wereldwijde markten vanuit de LNG-fabriek in Gladstone en wordt ook verkocht aan de binnenlandse markt. In Noord-Australië en Oost-Timor staat het project Bayu-Undan/Darwin LNG (DLNG) centraal.
