Prior to joining VentureMD, Mr. Reeves has extensive years of experience in the medical device industry, primarily in the orthopedic, sports medicine and spine markets.
He began his career as a development engineer and then changed to law where he has developed medical device intellectual property for the past twenty years.
His medical knowledge spans a diverse range of technologies including instrumentation and implants relating to total joint arthroplasty, all aspects of spine care, medical cement, internal and external fracture fixation, soft tissue repair and replacement, endoscopy, skin grafting, surgical navigation, wound management, soft goods, hospital durable goods, and biologics.
He has written and prosecuted hundreds of patent applications relating to these medical technologies.
His past experience includes Patent Counsel at Bristol-Myers Squibb (Zimmer, Inc.); Senior Patent Counsel at Medtronic, Inc. (Sofamor Danek); sole proprietor of a patent boutique law firm catering to the medical industry; and Chief Patent Counsel at Lanx, Inc.
Mr. Reeves holds a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Notre Dame and a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University.
