Prior to joining CM Capital in March 2007, Ms. Catherine Challen held the position of Investment Analyst at Uniseed, a $61million early stage commercialisation fund for the Universities of Queensland, New South Wales and Melbourne.
Her role at Uniseed involved working closely with the Uniseed Investment Committee, including the identification and recommendation of investments across a broad range of technology sectors.
During her time at Uniseed, Ms. Challen led a number of due diligence projects taking two projects from identification through to final investment approval.
Her range of experience and responsibilities included acting as company secretary, managing company accounts and preparing scientific reports for investee companies.
Ms. Challen also brings experience in conducting market research, technology research and intellectual property assessment for commercial validation of investment opportunities.
Prior to Uniseed, Ms. Challen gained experience in biotechnology policy development with the Queensland Government Department of State Development (formerly Department of Innovation and Information Economy).
In September 2006, she was selected as one of two Australian candidates to attend the Novartis International Biotechnology Camp in Singapore.
Ms. Challen is currently completing a Professional Doctorate at the University of Queensland.
